PORTLAND, OR – December 5, 2025 – Adidas today launched the latest version of โขits flagship barricade tennis shoe, introducing Lightstrike Pro foam cushioning in the forefoot for improved energy returnโ and a lighter overall design. The Barricade, a popular franchise for players of all levels, receives its 14th update withโ a focus on enhanced comfort, stability, and durability.
The new Barricade marksโ a shift for Adidas tennisโฃ footwear, โฃtraditionally focusing foam cushioning in the heel. “Extensively tested in collaborationโ with โour elite โathletes,โ insights gathered revealed demand for a lighter and more comfortable design,” saidโฃ Annette โSteingass, senior director specialistโ for sports apparel at Adidas. “The latest silhouette reaffirms our drive to provideโฃ stability and comfort in one foundational shoe, and we can’t wait to seeโ it on courts all over the world.”
Additional updates include a cushioned collar for a snug heel fit and a cushioned tongue for added comfort. The shoe ($170) willโค debut with a classic black and white โcolorway as the 2026 season begins, and will be worn by Adidas athletes including Daria Kasatkina, Karolina โMuchova, Francisco Cerundolo, Felix Auger-Aliassime and Stefanos Tsitsipas at the Australian Open.
