Cádiz, Spain – Judeline, a rising star in the Spanish music scene, captivated crowds Sunday evening with a free concert in the Plaza de San Antonio as part of the Cádiz Sonora program, a series of performances organized by the city’s Delegation of Festivals during the annual Carnival celebrations.
The performance by the artist from Jerez, who was raised in Barbate, showcased her unique blend of musical styles, incorporating influences from flamenco, trap, R&B, reggaeton, and even Arabic sounds. Judeline’s debut album, “Bodhiria,” has solidified her position as a potential fresh star in the Spanish pop landscape, according to local reports.
The Cádiz Sonora program, designed to offer Carnival-goers more than traditional *coplas* (Carnival songs), began on Thursday with a performance by Las Guerreras del K-Pop, geared towards children. Judeline’s concert followed, drawing a large audience to the Plaza de San Antonio.
The Ayuntamiento de Cádiz (Cádiz City Council) initiated the concert series to broaden the appeal of the Carnival festivities. Upcoming performances include DenisDenis and MissCaffeina on Wednesday, Pastora Soler on Thursday, February 19th, a Friday lineup featuring G5 with Kiko Veneno, El Canijo de Jerez, Tomasito, Muchachito Bombo Infierno, and Diego Ratón, Vera Fauna and Lori Meyers on Saturday, February 21st, and a closing performance by children’s artist Luli Pampín on Sunday at noon.
Judeline is considered a leading figure in contemporary Gaditan music – music from the Cádiz region – and an icon for a new generation of fans. Her music is described as simultaneously forward-looking and deeply rooted in tradition.
