Farah Zeynep Abdullah Discusses Motherhood and Societal Perceptions
Farah Zeynep Abdullah,a guest in the latest issue of Cosmopolitan Tรผrkiye, shared her thoughts on relationships, children, and societal expectations.
“I want a child very much,” Abdullah stated, revealing she has been recording messages for her future children as she was 20. She described this desire as a sincere and real request, accompanied by a sense of obligation. Abdullah also shared a surprising anecdote about her father’s progressive views, noting he once suggested she could have a child from a sperm bank if she wished, even without marriage.
The actress also touched upon how her self-reliant spirit is sometimes misconstrued in the industry. “When they cannot define me, they call it ‘crazy,'” she explained. “If I were a man, they would say ‘punk, free soul, lad.’ But if you’re a woman, I’m going to be crazy.”
Regarding the current state of the acting profession,Abdullah expressed a sentiment that the sector feels akin to the erotic periods of Yeลilรงam,the classic Turkish cinema era, from 50 years ago. She feels that acting has become more of a label than a profession, despite the popularity of current series.
Abdullah also addressed her approach to social media criticism. “I do not put it at the center of my life,” she said. “Those who insult or threaten you think you are a photograph. Something is written, I read it in three seconds.I do not involve it in my life.”
