Bologna, Italy โ – โItalianโ basketball star Achille Polonara has announced a successfulโฃ bone marrow transplant, offering a positive update in his battle with myeloid leukemia, which was diagnosed in June. Polonara shared tehโ news via his X account, stating, “Everything โขwith transplantation is fine.” The transplant achieved a 90 โคpercent donor match, according too reports.
Polonara, a veteran of numerous European basketball leagues โคand the Italianโ nationalโ team, previously overcame testicular cancer, โฃreturning to play during the โ2023-2024 season.He currently playsโ for Dynamo Bancoโฃ di Sardegna sassariโข in the Italian LBA Unipolsai league and the FIBA Europe Cup.
