Bucks County Voter Data: Strange Third-Party Choices & Pipeline Concerns

by Julia Evans – Entertainment Editor November 8, 2025

Bucks County Officials⁢ Demand answers as Sunoco Repairs Pipeline Following Jet Fuel Leak

UPPER‍ MAKEFIELD, PA – November 8, 2025 – Following the finding of a ‌jet fuel leak earlier this year, Sunoco⁣ and Energy ‌Transfer are digging new⁣ holes to repair the Twin Oaks pipeline‍ in Bucks County, prompting‌ renewed calls for ‍accountability from local and ⁢federal officials. The pipeline runs near the Mount Eyre neighborhood in Upper Makefield Township.

The latest⁣ work comes after pipeline inspection ⁢tools identified “anomalies”⁤ near the site of the January leak, which originated from a crack in ‌a repair made in the 1990s.‌ While company representatives maintain there is no⁤ immediate threat to public ⁣safety, U.S. Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick⁣ (R-Pennsylvania) and state sen. ⁢Steve Santarsiero (D-Bucks) are pressing for greater oversight.

“I spoke with Paul ⁢roberti, administrator of the federal Pipeline and hazardous Materials Safety ⁢Administration (PHMSA),” Santarsiero wrote on ⁣social media. “I underscored that ‌Sunoco/Energy Transfer has not been a good actor in⁣ dealing with the scores of households in the Mt.Eyre neighborhood area … PHMSA should not take ⁢them at their word.”

Fitzpatrick echoed⁤ those ⁢concerns, stating via social media: “We expect a full accounting, and the long-overdue answers our community deserves, by year’s end.”

The Twin Oaks pipeline is⁢ decades old, but company representatives ⁢have previously argued its⁢ lifespan is indefinite due to ongoing‍ repair capabilities. ⁤

Sunoco representatives anticipate completing cleanup of the ‌dig site on Taylorsville Road by November 14.Residents can find updates at https://uppermakefield.incidentupdates.com/updates/.

The initial leak prompted testing of Washington Crossing wells, as reported ‌by the⁤ PhillyBurbs https://www.phillyburbs.com/story/news/local/2025/02/05/washington-crossing-wells-to-test-after-jet-fuel-pipeline-leak-sunoco-bucks-county-upper-makefield/78224506007/.

Columbus Sees Record Road Safety Improvement, Fewer Fatalities in 2025

by David Harrison – Chief Editor October 31, 2025
written by David Harrison – Chief Editor

Columbus Records First Fatality-Free Month on City Streets since 2018

Columbus, OH – For the first ‍time since November 2018, the city of Columbus completed a month ‌with zero traffic fatalities, marking a significant milestone in ongoing efforts to improve road safety. The achievement, confirmed by the Columbus Division of Police,⁣ represents a critical turning point as the ‍city continues to implement Vision Zero strategies aimed at eliminating traffic deaths and serious injuries.

The last ‍full month without a traffic fatality in Columbus was November 2018. This ⁢recent success comes amid a broader city-wide push for safer streets, including infrastructure improvements, increased traffic enforcement, and public awareness campaigns. While ⁢one month of zero fatalities doesn’t erase the pain of past losses, it demonstrates the potential ‍for positive change and reinforces the importance of continued investment in safety ⁢measures. City officials are analyzing data from the month to ‌identify contributing factors and replicate triumphant strategies moving forward.

Throughout October, the Columbus Division of Police reported no fatal crashes involving vehicles, pedestrians, or⁣ cyclists. This contrasts sharply ⁣with previous years, where October has historically⁢ seen a higher number of traffic-related deaths due to decreased daylight hours and increased pedestrian activity.

Looking ⁤ahead, the city plans to continue implementing its Vision Zero action ‍plan, which includes projects like pedestrian safety improvements at high-crash ⁤intersections, expanded bike lane networks, and automated speed enforcement in school zones. ‌Residents are encouraged to remain vigilant while driving, walking, and cycling, and to report any safety concerns to the city.
