Milan’s First 100% Gluten-Free rotisserie Opens Its Doors
Milan,โข Italy โ – A new rotisserie in Milan is challenging culinary norms by โฃoffering a 100% gluten-free menu of traditionally โขoff-limits Italian comfort food. Anomal Rosticceria, โspearheaded by Maria โขCristina, launched withโค a โฃfocus on recreating classicโค dishes typically inaccessible to thoseโฃ with celiac disease or gluten sensitivities.
The eatery’s menu boastsโ a wide array ofโ typically gluten-heavy favorites, including supplรฌ, mondeghili, cod meatballs, parmigiana โdi melanzane, โand evenโ crepes filled with both sweet and savory options like ricotta and spinach or pumpkinโค and gorgonzola. Alongside Italian staples, Anomal Rosticceria โขalso features dishes reflecting the owner’s Argentine heritage, such as Pastel deโข Papas and empanadas – a nod to Maria Cristina’s family origins. The menu extendsโค to roast โbeef, rice onโค the jump, tuna veal, panzerotti, croquettes, and a โคselection โฃof sides, all prepared without gluten. Prices are aligned with standard rotisserie offerings inโข the area.
“To leave weโ decided to focus on what usuallyโค a celiac cannot eat. Lasagna, fried foods, pizza, supplรฌ: all things that,inโ a traditional rotisserie, are โoff-limits for those who mustโ limit โor eliminate gluten,” explainsโ Maria Cristina.
Currently operatingโ primarily as aโ takeaway service with hours from 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM and a โreservation pick-up window fromโข 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM, Anomal Rosticceria is expanding its services to include delivery via major platformsโฃ andโ a wider โafternoon โคpick-up window. The shop also carries a curatedโค selection of Gragnano Inecollo dry pasta, sweets fromโค La Fabbrica del Panforte di Siena, specialtyโ flours, โcraft beers, and wine. While โขcurrently lacking seating, the owners prioritize quality and safety as they scale their operations, with future plans potentially including catering services.
