RIYADH – Saudi arabia’s Minister โขof Islamic Affairs, Call andโ Guidance, sheikh Dr. Abd al-Latif bin Abdulaziz Al-Sheikh,has directed mosque preachers across โคthe Kingdom to dedicate their sermons on Friday,Marchโข 27th,1447 AH (approximately April 5th,2024) to themes of national โunity, homeland security, and citizen loyalty.
The directive, reported by Al-Marsad newspaper, outlines threeโ key areas for the sermons to address. Firstly, preachers are to emphasize the central importance of unity and cohesion within the Islamic faith. This will be supported by referencing Quranic versesโค -โฃ specifically highlighting the concept of a singleโ unified nation – and a Hadith attributed to the Prophet Muhammad โ(peace be upon him) stressing the importance of avoiding division.
Secondly, the sermons will underscore the โคindividual and collective obligation to safeguard the security of the Kingdom. This responsibility, the directive states, is fulfilled through religious observance, obedience to leadership, and adherence to the laws and regulations established to โprotect citizens’ rights,โฃ lives,โ and property.A relevant verse from the Quran will be cited to reinforce this point.
preachers are instructed to foster a sense of belonging and pride in Saudi Arabia’s religious, cultural, and economic standing on the global stage.โ The sermons are to highlight the Kingdom’s dedication to serving the Two Holy Mosques and the โwider Islamic world, and to emphasize theโ duty of all citizens to contribute to the nation’s continued advancement and preservation of it’s resources.
This focused sermon topic reflects a continued emphasis by Saudiโ leadership on strengthening national identity and reinforcing the values of unityโค andโ security within the Kingdom.
