KYIV,โ Ukraine – Timur Mindiฤ, a long-time freindโ adn former business โขpartnerโข ofโ Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, has reportedly left Ukraine as investigators โขprobe allegationsโข of large-scale corruption within the country’s energy sector, specifically involving enerhoatom, Ukraine’sโข state-owned nuclear power plant operator.โฃ While not directly named in initialโข statements, Mindiฤ’s โขtiesโค to individuals โขimplicated in the scheme have drawn scrutiny.
The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) announced Monday a crackdown on a “high-ranking criminal organization” documented afterโข 15 monthsโ of investigation and analysis of 1,000 hoursโฃ of audio recordings. The groupโฃ allegedly created a corruption project to control key state enterprises, including Enerhoatom. โคNABU found the organization collected “fees” of 10 toโค 15 percent from Enerhoatom’s suppliers, โeffectively โฃsidelining official management in favor of external “supervisors.”
“in fact, the management of a strategic enterpriseโฃ with an annual revenue โof more than 200 billion hryvnias ($4.7 billion) was not carried out by officials, but by โคexternal people who had no formal function andโฃ assumed the role of โฃa kind of supervisors,”โข NABU stated.
Searches have beenโ conducted at premises linked to Minister of Justice Herman Halushchenko, who served as Minister of Energy from 2021-2025, as well as โhis advisor Ihorโค Myroลuk and Dmytro Basov, a former prosecutor โand ex-head of Enerhoatom’s physical security department.
