Florida Authorities Investigate Multiple Allegations Against Traveling Veterinarian โFollowing Initial โขSexual Battery Charge
A Houston-based veterinarian is facingโค mountingโฃ scrutiny as authorities investigate allegations of sexual misconduct involving multiple young women across several โstates.Dr. Ford was initially charged with sexual batteryโ of โa minor, and as โฃthan, at โleast four additional victimsโฃ have come forward, according to attorney Brent Kuvin,โฃ who represents the first reported victim. The FBI is now involved, operating โa hotline to gather facts from potential victims.
Kuvin stated that โฃinvestigators believe โthe total โnumber ofโ victims โcould range from 12 to 15, spanning years of Dr. โford’s professional โtravel. “Dr. Ford was heavily involved in the barrel racing world,” Kuvin said.”He would travel and heโ would have one โฃor two or maybe even three young girlsโ that would go and assist and โขbecome veterinary techniciansโ forโ the show.” The criminal complaint details Dr. Ford’s โขtravels to eventsโ in Georgia, Tennessee,โ Florida,โฃ Texas, Missouri, Alabama, and โMississippi.
Theโ initial case came to light when the teen’s mother discoveredโข sexually explicit text messages between her daughter and Dr. Ford. The daughterโฃ allegedly admitted to law enforcement that she and Ford hadโฃ engaged in โขsexual activity โขthree or four times. โฃInitially, the teenโฃ struggled to process โขthe abuse, feeling angerโค toward her mother before realizingโ the extent of Dr. Ford’s manipulation.
“Initially, the young girl thought she was in love. So, โฃshe wasโข upset at her mother. She was mad. She was scared. She was frustrated,” Kuvin โexplained. “Herโ angerโค turnedโฃ away from her mother and toward dr.โ Ford, realizing what he had done โand how he had manipulated her.”
Kuvin emphasized that โvictims often blame themselves in these situations, stating, “Whileโค you might feel guilty โขand you might feel upset about what happened and feel like there’s some blame on you, there’sโ not. โคIt’s not your fault.”
Authorities have not yet confirmed additional charges or identified other victims publicly. Dr. Ford remains in jail โขin Florida, with an arraignmentโ scheduled for October 28. Anyone โwith information is encouraged to contact the FBI hotline.
A โstatement from the first victim, shared with ABC13,reads,”What should have been a positive,career-building experience was turned into something deeply damaging and harmful.”
