written by Julia Evans – Entertainment Editor

Chesapeake Theological Seminary will begin its spring semester on Monday, February 17, 2026, offering a hybrid model of in-person and online classes, according to an announcement from the institution.

The seminary, founded in 1983, provides training for missionaries, pastors and lay leaders based on a Reformed theological framework. This semester’s curriculum includes courses such as “A Survey of the Bible,” “Systematic Theology,” “Marriage and Family,” and “Evangelism and Field Practice,” as well as a new course, “Effective Biblical Study Utilizing AI.” Additional courses offered include New Testament Introduction, Missiology, Covenant Theology, and Christian Worldview.

Chesapeake Theological Seminary offers Master of Divinity, Master of Theology, and Master of Arts in Christian Counseling degrees. It also provides a certificate program requiring the completion of 30 credit hours for laypersons. The seminary extends its educational reach beyond the United States, conducting theological education for indigenous communities in Bolivia, Peru, Brazil, the Dominican Republic, and Northeast Asia.

Supplemental instruction, including intensive classes, seminars, review sessions, and book discussions, will be held at the Anna Mountain Retreat Center, utilizing a “mountaintop teaching” format. English-language theological courses will also be offered at the Servant Run EP Church in Millersville.

In-person classes, special lectures, and seminars will be held at various locations throughout the region, including Han Sarang Church and Words to Live By Church in Maryland, Anna Mountain Retreat Center, and the Centreville Korean Presbyterian Church in Virginia. The seminary can be reached at (410) 852-0999 for inquiries.

The seminary’s approach to theological education was highlighted by Cho Hwi-kwon, a graduate of the program, who stated, according to the Korea Times, that being able to study Reformed theology centered on the Bible at a later stage in life was “God’s grace.”

The Chesapeake Theological Seminary New York branch also commenced its educational schedule on February 6, emphasizing a Reformed theological foundation, as reported by the Christian Daily.

Instagram CEO Denies Addiction in Teen Lawsuit – Zuckerberg to Testify Next Week

by Julia Evans – Entertainment Editor February 12, 2026
written by Julia Evans – Entertainment Editor

Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri testified in a California court Wednesday that he distinguishes between “clinical addiction” and “problematic use” when discussing social media’s impact on users, according to the Associated Press. The testimony came during a lawsuit alleging Instagram intentionally designs its platform to be addictive to young people.

Mosseri drew a parallel to his own viewing habits, stating he has described himself as “addicted” to Netflix, but clarified this differs from clinical addiction. He maintained that Instagram does not intentionally cause addiction, though he acknowledged users may experience positive feelings from spending more time on the platform. He also stated that such outcomes are not the company’s intention or benefit.

The case, initiated by 20-year-old Kiley G.M., alleges that social media addiction led to anxiety, depression and physical disabilities. Kiley G.M. Began using YouTube at age six, Instagram at eleven, and subsequently used Snapchat and TikTok, claiming these platforms are addictive to children.

Mosseri addressed concerns about Instagram’s beauty filters, which critics argue promote cosmetic surgery. He stated there is “always a tension” between safety and freedom of expression, and that the company is striving to create the platform as safe as possible while minimizing censorship.

The lawsuit is considered a “bellwether trial” with potential implications for thousands of similar cases against big tech companies. Mark Lanier, the attorney who secured billions in damages against Johnson & Johnson in baby powder cancer cases, is representing the plaintiff. Meta founder Mark Zuckerberg is scheduled to testify on February 18, and YouTube CEO Neal Mohan will also appear at a later date.
