Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu unveiled the teaser for Abhishek Nama’s upcoming mythological action film, Nagabandham, on Friday, coinciding with Maha Shivaratri celebrations. The teaser features Virat Karrna in the lead role and offers a first look at the visually ambitious project, set against the backdrop of the Himalayas.
Babu shared the teaser link on X, formerly known as Twitter, praising the film as “absolutely fascinating.” The teaser hints at a hidden world and an ancient secret threatened by human greed, with a protector rising to defend it. According to reports, the narrative draws partial inspiration from the historical Afghan invasion led by Ahmad Shah Abdali, blending mythology, history, and spiritual warfare.
Nagabandham stars Virat Karrna alongside Nabha Natesh, Ishwarya Menon, Mahesh Manjrekar, and Jagapathi Babu. The film centers around the Nagabandham Temple, described as a concealed sacred site guarded by divine energies and believed to house an ancient cosmic force. The teaser showcases stunning visuals and a grand scale, aiming to redefine production values in Indian cinema.
The teaser, which premiered in Hyderabad at Prasad’s P.C.E. On Saturday, has garnered significant attention for Karrna’s portrayal of a character embodying both the fury of Lord Shiva and a warrior battling mythical creatures. The film’s creators emphasize a focus on visual effects and technical precision, aiming for a cinematic experience that blends spirituality, action, and mythological depth.
The production, a collaboration between NIK Studios and Abhishek Pictures, is being produced by Kishore Annapurna Reddy and Nishita Nagireddy, with Taraka Cinemas as associate producers. Nagabandham is slated for release in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam in the summer of 2026.
