Cairo – Actor Ahmed Fahmy has begun initial preparations for a new film tentatively titled “Sen El Feel” (The Elephant’s Age), signaling a return to cinematic projects following recent television work. The film is expected to begin shooting in the coming period, according to reports from Sahafati.com and Sa24.co.
Starring alongside Fahmy will be actress Asmaa Galal, marking their first full-length film collaboration. The project, a dramedy, is directed by Karim Saad, who also directed Fahmy’s recent series, “Ibn El Nady” (Son of the Club).
Sources close to the production team indicate the film, while currently titled “Sen El Feel,” is an early working title and subject to change. The narrative is described as a social story with comedic elements, but also incorporating a greater degree of human drama than some of Fahmy’s previous roles. Casting for supporting roles is ongoing, alongside location scouting and final script revisions.
Producers are reportedly banking on the on-screen chemistry between Fahmy and Galal, citing Galal’s recent performances and her ability to move between romantic and comedic roles.
Fahmy’s recent work includes a guest appearance in the series “Al Hareefah 2: Al Remontada” (The Professional 2: The Comeback) in 2024, and a leading role in “Ibn El Nady,” which aired on a streaming platform. According to Elcinema.com, Fahmy has a busy schedule with several projects in various stages of production, including the series “Al Metr” (The Meter) scheduled for 2026.
Prior to “Ibn El Nady,” Fahmy appeared in a string of films including “Shaqoo” (Troublemakers) and “Welad Rizk 3: Al Qadia” (Sons of Rizk 3: The Decisive One) in 2024, and “Jet Salima” (Salima Got Away) and “Sereh El Bate’a” (The Secret of the Hidden) in 2023. He has also taken on roles in several guest appearances across television, and film.
Fahmy began his career with the production group “Tamar Hindi” while at Cairo University’s Faculty of Economics and Political Science, according to Wikipedia. The group produced satirical short films parodying popular Egyptian cinema.
