Tabanan,Bali – Minister Fadli Zon lauded Tabanan Regency’s commitment to cultural preservation and youth engagement during a cultural dialog held at the I Ketut Marya Art Center today. The event highlighted the region’s role not only as Bali’s agricultural heartland but also as a bastion of resilient communities and rich artistic tradition.The I Ketut Marya Art Center itself holds significant historical weight,deeply rooted in Tabanan’s local cultural heritage. The venue and the spirit of the Tabanan people,officials noted,represent the region’s contributions to Indonesia’s independence and its enduring artistic legacy.
Komang Gede Sanjaya, representing the Tabanan District Government, welcomed Minister Zon and his delegation to “the City of Singasana,” expressing hope that the visit would inspire further safeguarding of cultural roots. “Proud to be from Tabanan,” he remarked.
The dialogue featured a multi-generational gamelan performance, “Dynamics of Cultural Heritage Aura,” directed by Prof.I Gusti nengah nurata. Performances included the grand “Jayaning Singasana AUM” dance, a Kebyar duduk dance by I Putu Gede Raka Anggara Guna – a recreation of a work by maestro I Ketut Maria – and a poetry reading “Tabanan in Words and Feelings” by I Gusti Ayu Putu Mahindu Dewi and I Gusti Putu Bawa (Samar gantang) at Jero Tengah, Banjar tegal Belodan, Dauh Peken Village.
Prior to the dialogue, the Minister’s delegation visited Puri Gede Singasana Tabanan to meet Tjokorda Anglurah Tabanan and palace elders.A baleganjur performance greeted attendees, showcasing Tabanan’s vibrant cultural spirit.Senior ministry officials present included the Director General of Cultural and Tradition Protection, the Director of Belief in One Almighty God and Indigenous Communities, the Head of the cultural Preservation Office Region XV, and the Director of Cultural Heritage.Also in attendance were the Chairman of the Indonesian Museum Association, Tabanan Deputy Regent Ida Tjokorda Anglurah Tabanan, local Forkopimda officials, members of the Tabanan District Council, and local artists.
