Swimmer Schouten returns after mysterious disease and will train in Antwerp

Dutch swimmer Tes Schouten expressed her understanding of the Dutch Swimming Federation’s (KNZB) preference for a large, multi-pool complex in Eindhoven, acknowledging that such a facility would be ideal for training. Though, Schouten emphasized that her primary concern is the training situation for her teammate, Mark, with whom she has achieved meaningful success and aims to continue doing so.

Schouten stated, “I understand from the KNZB that if you set up a large complex with all extra baths in Eindhoven, they would have preferred us there. In an ideal world you want it all to go together in one place, but in reality that is not.” She further clarified her focus, saying, “But I am not about Eindhoven, they are doing very well there. I am mainly concerned with Mark, as with him I have been the best athlete and I can become that again.”
