Surfing Dog Mango Featured on TV Animal Farm at Gwangalli Beach
A Decade on the Waves at Gwangalli Beach
Mango, a 10-year-old dog known for surfing the waves at Gwangalli Beach in Busan, drew public attention during an appearance on the SBS program TV Animal Farm, as reported by MHN Sports.
The broadcast featured footage of Mango standing balanced on a surfboard while riding incoming waves toward the shore. Observers on the beach noted the dog’s ability to maintain stability on the board during rides. Local accounts indicate Mango has been recognized in the neighborhood as a frequent surfer along the coastline.
A Lifetime of Surfing Since Learning to Walk
According to the dog’s owner, Mango began surfing shortly after turning one, marking a span of 10 years on the water.
The owner stated that Mango shows no hesitation when facing oncoming waves, often diving into the water even as waves break over the board.

Resisting the Shoreline After a Session
Following a session on the water, Mango reportedly resisted attempts to go home, attempting to return to the sea before the owner carried the dog away. Back at home, Mango migrated toward the location where the surfboard is kept.
When the owner noted that a wind warning was in effect and surfing was not possible, Mango continued to show interest in returning to the water.
The Applause of Onlookers Along the Waterfront
The owner suggested that Mango enjoys the activity partly due to reactions from onlookers on the beach who watch and applaud the surfing sessions.
The segment highlighted the decade-long routine of the dog and its owner along the Gwangalli waterfront.
