‘Superman‘ Flies to HBO Max this Week – But Is a Rewatch Worth It?
September 16, 2025 – james Gunn‘s reimagining of Superman has sparked considerable debate since its release, concurrently generating excitement for a revitalized DC Universe and drawing fire from fans nostalgic for Henry Cavill‘s portrayal and Zack Snyder’s vision. It’s also faced criticism from viewers simply underwhelmed by the final product.
And, as Forbes contributor Erik Kain notes, he falls squarely into that latter camp. While praising David Corenswet’s performance as the Man of Steel – stating he’s “a great choice and did a terrific job” – Kain’s core issue lies with the film’s writing and direction.
