Suns Snap Losing Streak, Handle Raptors in Convincing Win
The Phoenix Suns ended a five-game losing streak Sunday night with a decisive 120-98 victory over the Toronto Raptors at Arizona’s Family 3TV in Phoenix, Arizona.
Devin Booker led the Suns with 25 points, shooting 9-of-15 from the field and 3-of-6 from three-point range. Jalen Green added 20 points, contributing 7 assists, while Collin Gillespie chipped in with 16 points, hitting 4-of-6 from beyond the arc. The win improved Phoenix’s record to 40-32 on the season.
The Suns’ performance marked a significant shift from their recent struggles. After falling behind early, Phoenix responded with a 10-2 run, a reaction that had been absent during the losing streak. The team secured rebounds, moved the ball effectively on offense, and displayed a renewed defensive intensity.
Scottie Barnes paced the Raptors with 17 points, while as well grabbing 7 rebounds. Toronto, currently fifth in the Eastern Conference, was unable to overcome Phoenix’s balanced attack. The Raptors shot 33% from three-point range and committed 20 turnovers.
The victory comes as the Suns navigate a period impacted by injuries. The team has been hampered by a limited roster, making consistent performance challenging. Sunday’s win offered a glimpse of what the team is capable of when healthy and cohesive.
Collin Gillespie was recognized as the “Bright Side Baller” for his performance, marking the second consecutive game he has earned the honor. Gillespie is steadily climbing the standings in the team’s internal recognition system.
Other notable performances for the Suns included 14 points and 7 rebounds from Jordan Goodwin, and 12 points and 3 steals from Ryan Dunn. Rasheer Fleming also contributed 11 points and 7 rebounds.
