Sundance Institute Launches AI Literacy Initiative for Filmmakers
The Sundance Institute is launching a three-year AI Literacy Initiative for filmmakers, with support from Google.org. It’s all about helping artists understand AI and decide how—or if—they want to use it in thier work. We believe it’s crucial to keep human artists at the center of storytelling, especially as things change so quickly.
This initiative will offer free learning resources and events. It’ll also create a new year-long AI Creators Fellowship, run by the Institute’s Artist Accelerator Program. Plus, we’re starting an AI Literacy Alliance with partners like The Gotham, Film Independent, and the Creators Coalition on AI (CCAI).
The Gotham Film & Media Institute helps independent creators build their careers, connect with the industry, and get recognized. They offer programs like Gotham Week, The Gotham Film Awards, and gotham EDU.
film Independent champions independent visual storytelling and supports artists worldwide. They provide educational programs, workshops (like Project Involve), and connect audiences with great independent films through Film Independent Presents. They also host the Film Independent Spirit Awards.
The Creators Coalition on AI (CCAI) is a hub for discussing how AI impacts the film and television industry, and the creative community as a whole. They’re working to find common ground, improve industry systems, and protect creators in this new technological landscape.
