Styles P Announces Final Three-Part Album Ghost of the Past, Present, and Future
Styles P, a member of the Grammy-winning group The Lox, announced his final studio project, a three-part album titled Ghost of the Past, Present, & Future, during a private listening event this week. The first 11-track installment is scheduled for release this fall.
The announcement took place at the one-year anniversary celebration of Strains For Life, Styles P’s cannabis dispensary. Guests in the venue’s downstairs lounge heard the first project, which features production from AraabMuzik, DJ Jazzy Jeff, and Rsonist of The Heatmakerz. The album includes appearances by fellow Lox members Jadakiss and Sheek Louch.
Spiritual Framework and Lyrical Intent
Styles P described the album’s title as a reflection of a spiritual framework he has developed over several decades. He explained that the “past” represents the origins and struggles one has dealt with, while the “present” focuses on awareness and an appreciation for life. The “future” component, according to Styles, is about becoming “even more elevated.”
On one track, Styles raps, “They saying lyrics is dead, fuck it, I’m resurrecting ’em.”
The lyrical content focuses on aging, accountability, legacy, and the various identities Styles has inhabited throughout his career. He stated that his goal is for his impact to be viewed as someone who was “genuine,” “honest,” “raw,” and “authentic.”
The Business of Wellness in Yonkers
This dispensary is part of a broader ecosystem of wellness ventures, including Juices For Life and Farmacy For Life.
Styles P noted that his fanbase is familiar with his commitment to eating and smoking plants, stating that “Strains For Life is for those who do the same.”
Production Timeline and Future Installments
The rollout of Ghost of the Past, Present, & Future is structured as a phased release. While the first installment arrives this fall, the rapper has already begun recording the second part. The third remains unwritten.
The involvement of The Heatmakerz and DJ Jazzy Jeff signals a production style that bridges the gap between the gritty, street-oriented sound of Yonkers and polished, professional musicianship.
