Story House Partners’ ‘St. George’ Film Production Begins in Montana

Story ‍House Partners to Begin Production on Family‌ Drama ‘St. George’ in Montana

MISSOULA, MONT. – Story House Partners, the Montana-based production branch of ⁤Story House ⁢Inc., will commence filming⁢ on its inaugural feature film, “St. George,” in October. The film,‍ a family drama written and directed by Andrew Pastides, marks a significant step in the ‌companyS investment in the Mountain West’s film ⁤industry.

“St.‍ George” centers on ‍two brothers navigating grief following the death of their sister. One brother has Down syndrome,⁤ and the other assumes the role of his caregiver. The⁢ dynamic shifts with the return of their late sister’s boyfriend, leading to a confrontation with their family’s shortcomings.

The production has been developed in collaboration with the National Down Syndrome Society to ensure authentic representation and foster dialog⁤ about the neurodivergent⁢ community. ”I’m drawn to the gray areas – the‌ space where tragedy and humor overlap, ⁣where love and loss coexist,” Pastides stated. “With ‘st. George,’ I wanted to explore how silence⁤ around‌ grief leaves us unequipped to ‍love fully, and how resilience takes different shapes in different families – especially within the neurodivergent community.”

Filming will take place on location in Missoula, Montana. Story House Inc. is concurrently developing a 47-acre studio campus⁣ in Missoula and a‍ 240-acre community,⁤ Story House Village, in Sheridan, Wyoming, aiming to establish a robust production ecosystem in the region. The company is actively working with lawmakers through Story House Montana to‌ support film production in an area historically underserved by large-scale projects.

“It’s incredibly meaningful that ‘st. George’ is the first feature film from Story House Partners,” said James Brown III, Story House co-founder and chief creative officer. “To launch our producing journey with a story this powerful feels like both an honour and a responsibility – we’ve been trusted with something deeply human, and it⁤ brings me so much joy to share it with the ⁢world.”

St.George” is produced by Sean Patrick higgins, James Brown III, and ‌Matt Lauria, with Bianca butti serving‌ as the cinematographer.
