Trump has proposed utilizing revenue generated from newly implemented tariffs to provide rebates to taxpayers, though specifics remain limited. In February, he suggested a potential $5,000 stimulus payment, dubbed a “DOGE dividend,” funded by 20% of savings identified by billionaire Elon Musk’s proposed Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). No further details regarding the “DOGE dividend” have been released since that proclamation.
Currently, individuals who have filed their 2025 federal taxes electronically with direct deposit details can expect a refund within 21 days of IRS acceptance. Paper checks are estimated to arrive within six to eight weeks.
