Stellar Blade: Blood Rain Announced – Cyberpunk Action Game with New Hero & Stunning City Reveal

Developer and publisher Shift Up unveiled Stellar Blade: Blood Rain during the Summer Game Fest 2026 on Friday. The title serves as a direct sequel to the 2024 action game Stellar Blade.

The announcement included a reveal trailer showcasing a new protagonist, Evie, as she navigates a dense, cyberpunk-inspired urban environment. Footage from the trailer depicts the character engaging in combat against naytibas, the same monstrous entities featured as primary antagonists in the original game. The narrative of Blood Rain is set to continue the story established by the events of the first installment.

Shift Up confirmed that it will self-publish the sequel. This represents a change in business strategy for the franchise, as the original Stellar Blade was published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. While the first game launched as a PlayStation 5 exclusive before arriving on Windows PC a year later, no specific platforms have been announced for Blood Rain.

Development of the sequel was confirmed to be underway last summer. Although investor documentation from Shift Up previously suggested a potential release in 2026, the studio did not provide a confirmed launch date or release window during the reveal event.
