Stefan Kretzschmar Launches Handball Agency “dreisiebenmedia” with New Partners
Former German handball player Stefan Kretzschmar, who led Füchse Berlin to their first German Championship as sporting director, has launched his own agency, “dreisiebenmedia,” alongside handball influencer Jari Brüggmann and Dyn commentator Lennart Wilken-Johannes.
The latest venture aims to combine handball expertise with creative content production and marketing strategies, focusing on athlete and brand development. Kretzschmar stated, “Handball now needs more than visibility – it needs attitude, creativity and implementation. I have said for many years that something needs to change in our sport. Now, together with Lennart and Jari, I am taking matters into my own hands.”
Dreisiebenmedia will offer services ranging from concept development and content creation to comprehensive brand activation for organizations and athletes. A core focus will be on innovative storytelling, extending beyond traditional handball coverage, according to the company.
Jari Brüggmann will lead the agency’s conceptualization, creation, and production efforts. He explained, “We want to tell the story of the sport off the field and create formats that not only generate reach but also deliver real added value for athletes and brands. When the game is over, that’s when we start.”
Lennart Wilken-Johannes will contribute his business administration experience to the agency. He emphasized the current pivotal moment for handball, stating, “Our initial focus is on handball. The sport is at a special threshold. Everyone is discussing how to make the sport more relevant and present it in a more compelling way. I am convinced that we bring together exciting competencies at dreisiebenmedia to answer this question in a variety of ways.”
According to a Wikipedia entry last updated October 12, 2014, Kretzschmar began playing handball at age six and joined the training center in Berlin at twelve, later moving to the SC Dynamo Berlin youth sports school. He played 218 games for the German national team, scoring 821 goals.
