Energy Bill Relief Continues: €200 Bonus Confirmed for eligible Families in 2025

Italian families facing high ‍energy costs will continue to receive support in 2025 thanks to a confirmed government bonus. The ⁢”energy-family bonus,” offering up to €200 in relief, will be⁢ available to⁤ households with an ISEE (Equivalent Economic Situation Indicator) of €25,000 or less.

This initiative, part of ⁣a broader effort to combat energy inflation, aims to directly reduce‌ electricity‌ and gas bills for the most financially vulnerable. The bonus will be automatically applied as a credit to eligible customers’ bills, eliminating the need for re-application for those already receiving social energy bonuses.

How the Bonus Works & Automatic Eligibility

The ⁣process is streamlined through collaboration between INPS (National⁢ Social Security Institute), ARERA (Regulatory Authority for Energy, Networks and Environment),‌ and energy suppliers. If a family has an ISEE updated⁣ to €25,000 or below, the system will‌ automatically cross-reference this information with their utility account details⁤ and apply‍ the discount.

Families who haven’t previously received the benefit‍ need only ensure their ISEE is current and accurately reflects their household supply contract information. Once verified, the reduction will appear on their next bill. This⁢ bonus can be combined with other ‌existing benefits, such as those for large families or for gas and district heating.

Key requirements & Avoiding Loss of Benefits

To qualify, the energy supply must be registered in the name ‍of a member of the family unit listed on the ISEE and be for residential ⁣use at the⁤ family’s primary residence.Maintaining accurate ⁤ISEE data is crucial. Errors in the ISEE‍ declaration (DSU – Single ⁣Substitute‍ Declaration), unreported changes⁢ of address, or supplies registered to individuals outside the family unit can⁢ lead to temporary loss of eligibility. Experts strongly recommend carefully reviewing ISEE information and confirming the correct association of the supply contract with the tax identification number of the account holder.

ARERA‍ estimates that over three million families will benefit from this bonus in‍ 2025, ‍providing a tangible, though partial, offset to rising energy expenses. ⁤ Keeping ISEE information up-to-date is the key to ensuring continued access to this valuable support.
