The San Antonio Spurs are bringing back forward Riley Minix on a two-way contract. The team had two such slots available, making the signing a straightforward addition to the roster.
Minix Returns After Injury and Strong G League Showing
Minix, 24, returns to the Spurs after a season that saw him appear in one game with the main club. He was a restricted free agent following the Spurs extending him a qualifying offer in June.

Last January, Minix underwent season-ending surgery for a torn labrum in his left shoulder. The injury occurred during a G League game on January 1st.
Summer League Performance Boosts Outlook
Demonstrating his recovery, Minix participated in the Spurs’ Summer League. He played in five contests, averaging 10.6 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 1.4 assists. His shooting efficiency was notable, hitting 48.6% from the field over 23.9 minutes per game.
Initially signed to an Exhibit 10 deal in July 2024 after going undrafted, Minix‘s contract was elevated to a two-way agreement before the regular season commenced.
Productive G League Season Showcases Talent
The 6’7″ forward, a product of Moorhead State, impressed with the G League Austin Spurs. In 19 games, he averaged 19.3 points, 6.6 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.2 steals, and 1.2 blocks. His shooting percentages were outstanding: .524 from the field, .414 from three-point range, and .853 from the free-throw line.
Last season, the average G League player shot just under 46% from the field, highlighting Minix‘s efficiency (NBA G League Stats 2024-25).
