ORLANDO,FL - A late-game foul and a game-saving block sealed a 114-112 win for the San Antonio Spurs over the Orlando Magic on Wednesday,just 14 hours after arriving at their hotel in Orlando following a grueling back-to-back schedule.
The game remained tight in the final seconds. With approximately six seconds remaining and the score tied, De’Aaron Fox drove past Franz Wagner and was met by Jonathan Isaac, who was called for a reach-in foul on Fox’s shot attempt. Fox calmly sank both free throws, giving San Antonio a two-point lead. Orlando had one last chance, inbounding the ball with 1.4 seconds left. Wagner secured a clean look, catching the ball over Julian Champagnie and attempting a layup, but Luke Kornet delivered a timely block to secure the victory for the Spurs.
De’Aaron Fox led all scorers with 31 points and 5 assists. Dylan Harper provided a spark off the bench, contributing 16 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists, including key baskets down the stretch. For the Magic,Franz Wagner and Jalen Suggs paced the offense with 25 and 24 points respectively. Suggs also recorded 3 steals but fouled out with 25.6 seconds left in the game.
