Spurs Daily: Transfer Rumours, News & General Discussion

by Priya Shah – Business Editor

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly considering a move for Atalanta’s 17-year-old Nigerian defender, Honest Ahanor, according to transfer rumours circulating on February 22, 2026. The interest in Ahanor comes as Spurs assess potential reinforcements in the centre-back position.

Several other clubs are also monitoring Ahanor, including potential competition from elsewhere in the Premier League and across Europe. Tottenham’s interest was first reported earlier this month, and the club is evaluating whether to make a formal offer during the summer transfer window. Ahanor currently plays for Atalanta’s youth setup.

The potential pursuit of Ahanor coincides with ongoing speculation regarding the future of current Tottenham defenders. Reports suggest Guglielmo Vicario, Tottenham’s goalkeeper, is attracting interest from Juventus and is expected to be available for transfer in the summer, potentially commanding a fee of €25 million (£21.8 million, $29.5 million).

Further defensive considerations include potential replacements for Cristian Romero, with Tottenham reportedly eyeing a €40 million defender as a possible successor. Tottenham are also monitoring Nathaniel Brown, currently contracted to Frankfurt until 2030.

In midfield, Lucas Bergvall remains a subject of discussion, with Tottenham reportedly setting an asking price of over £57 million ($76.9 million) for the player. Other players linked with potential moves to Tottenham include Edmond Tapsoba, who is also attracting interest from Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid, and Can Uzun.

Tottenham are also reportedly in contact with Darwin Núñez through intermediaries regarding a potential summer transfer, although no formal offer has been made. Interest in other attacking options includes Maghnes Akliouche and Samu Aghehowa. Castello Lukeba, a centre-back, is also a reported target, with a market value of €45.00m, as of February 14, 2026.
