Spring 2026 Fashion: Designer Debuts & Must-Have Pieces
Jonathan Anderson is now at the helm of Christian Dior, overseeing all of the French fashion house’s lines, following a period of significant leadership changes across the luxury sector. The appointment, finalized in June 2025, comes after Anderson stepped down from his eleven-year tenure at Loewe in March, a move that simultaneously paved the way for Proenza Schouler founders Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez to take the creative reins at the Spanish luxury brand.
The shift at Dior marks the first time in decades that one creative director will oversee menswear, womenswear, and haute couture, according to a statement released by Dior. Anderson succeeds Kim Jones, who previously led Dior’s menswear since 2018, and Maria Grazia Chiuri, who departed as the creative lead for womenswear after nine years in the role.
The transition at Loewe saw McCollough and Hernandez sign deals with LVMH, the parent company of both Dior and Loewe, effectively confirming Anderson’s move to Dior and initiating a series of personnel changes within the luxury conglomerate. The Proenza Schouler founders’ appointment was announced shortly after Anderson’s departure from Loewe, according to reports.
Anderson’s debut collection for Dior Men spring/summer 26 is scheduled to be presented in Paris on June 27, 2025. His arrival at Dior has been anticipated following speculation fueled by fashion commentator Louis Pisano’s reports last summer, suggesting Anderson’s potential departure from Loewe.
Prior to taking on the full creative direction at Dior, Anderson was already overseeing the menswear division, Dior Homme, since April. Industry observers, including Cathy Horyn of The Cut, had predicted Anderson’s move to Dior last season, noting a sense that the house could benefit from a change in creative direction.
McCollough and Hernandez, who founded Proenza Schouler over 20 years ago, reportedly expressed interest in pursuing opportunities in Europe for their own creative growth. Their departure from their namesake brand facilitated their move to Loewe, allowing them to take on a new challenge whereas remaining active in the fashion industry.
