Spotlight Series Events: London & Chiba 2026 Dates & Details
The UK will host a major international magic convention series in May 2026, with events planned in both London and, for the first time, Chiba, Japan. Fanfinity will organize the London events, scheduled for May 8-10, 2026, while BIG MAGIC will host the Chiba convention from May 29-31, 2026.
The London convention, details of which remain limited, will build on a tradition of magic gatherings in the city. The London Magic Convention, held annually since 2024, features lectures, competitions, and a dealers hall, attracting magicians from around the world. The 2024 event, held at the Lyric Theatre in Hammersmith, included lectures from Wayne Houchin, Stephen Long, and Mat Ricardo, alongside the London Close-Up Magic Championship and a unique gala show where performers compete for £4 by performing a precisely timed four-minute act.
The Magic Circle, a London-based society for magicians, also hosts events open to the public, including “History and Mystery,” “Close-up at The Magic Circle,” and a Christmas show. However, The Magic Circle does not offer casual visits; attendance is limited to those booking tickets for public events. The organization’s museum is only accessible as part of these public programs.
The Session, another UK-based close-up magic convention, is described as attracting “many of the world’s best magicians” and is conveniently located near Heathrow Airport.
The expansion of the convention series to Chiba, Japan, represents a significant development, indicating a growing international interest in the art of magic. Details regarding the Chiba event, including the venue and specific program, have not yet been released.
