Sporting Cristal Femenino: 4-0 Win & League Leadership | Liga Femenina 2026
Sporting Cristal’s women’s team secured a dominant 4-0 victory over CD Yanapuma in Iquitos, Peru, on Saturday, propelling them to the top of the Liga Femenina 2026 Torneo Apertura standings. Goals from Alessia Sanllehi, Guadalupe Miño, Tamara Alves, and Milena Tomayconsa sealed the win for the Celeste squad.
The result gives Sporting Cristal Femenino a perfect six points from two matches in the Apertura tournament, surpassing Universitario de Deportes, Alianza Lima, and Atlético Andahuaylas, who have each played only one match and earned three points. Flamengo FBC Tambo and Club UNSAAC also have three points after two matches, while Defensores del Ilucán, FC Killas, FBC Melgar, and CD Yanapuma trail behind.
Sporting Cristal Femenino previously defeated Melgar de Arequipa 4-0 in their opening match of the tournament. The team will next face Defensores del Ilucán on Friday, March 27, 2026, at 3:00 PM local time.
Meanwhile, the men’s team, managed by Paulo Autuori, is seeking to improve its performance in the Liga 1 Torneo Apertura. Autuori, who has a contract with Sporting Cristal until the end of 2026, recently expressed dissatisfaction with his team’s performance following a 3-2 loss to Los Chankas, stating there was “nothing to destacar” (nothing to highlight). He questioned the team’s defensive record, noting they have conceded a significant number of goals despite scoring 22.
Autuori also dismissed questions regarding the need for a new forward, asserting that the team already possesses goal-scoring capabilities and has demonstrated an ability to come from behind in matches. The manager’s comments came after a match played at altitude in Andahuaylas, a factor he did not directly address in post-match remarks.
Paulo Autuori, 69, began his managerial role with Sporting Cristal in April 2025, according to Transfermarkt. His career includes previous stints with numerous clubs in Brazil, Portugal, Peru, and other countries. He previously served as a technical director for Athletico-PR and Coritiba FC in 2024, and as manager of Cruzeiro in late 2023.
