South​ Carolina Garners Wide Range of AP Poll Votes, From No. 11 to Unranked

The South Carolina Gamecocks landed ⁤at No. 11 in the latest Associated Press Top 25 poll, but opinions on the team’s merit varied significantly among voters. While some analysts place ⁢South Carolina among the nation’s elite, others haven’t included the⁢ Gamecocks in their rankings at all. This disparity ‌highlights the ‌ongoing debate surrounding the​ team’s performance and potential as the collage football season progresses.

The AP Top 25 is compiled weekly from the votes of a panel of sportswriters and broadcasters. This week, the‍ Gamecocks received rankings ranging from as high as no. 11 to not being ranked by one voter. Ten voters ranked South Carolina at No. 10: ⁤Eric Hansen (The South Bend Tribune), Haley Sawyer ⁤(Southern California News Group), Jerry Humphrey ‌(AL.com), Jordan McPherson (Miami herald), Julian Mininsohn (WKRN-TV), kate Rogerson (WTVD-TV), Mike Jacques (WMTV-TV), Scott Hamilton (Post and Courier),⁢ Spencer Ripchik⁢ (The Dominion Post), and ⁢Stephen Means (Cleveland.com).

Dylan Sinn (The Journal Gazette) was the sole voter who⁤ did⁤ not ‍rank South Carolina within his Top 25. Other voters offered lower rankings: Jon wilner (San Jose⁢ Mercury⁣ News) placed the Gamecocks at No. 25, while Greg Madia (The Daily Progress), Koki​ Riley (The Baton Rouge⁤ Advocate), and Sam⁤ McKewon (Omaha World-Herald) all ranked South Carolina at ‍No.⁣ 21.
