South Australia Building & Infrastructure – Labor Update | February 2026

March 20, 2026 Lucas Fernandez – World Editor World

Alice Rolls, the Australian Labor Party candidate for the Unley electorate, shared a photograph on February 21, 2026, signaling continued commitment to South Australia ahead of the March 2026 state election. Rolls is challenging incumbent Liberal Party member David Pisoni, who currently holds the seat by approximately 1,000 votes.

Rolls brings nearly two decades of experience as a commercial litigator to the campaign. She currently manages the Civil Law Division at the Legal Services Commission of South Australia, a role focused on supporting vulnerable South Australians in areas including mental health, guardianship, NDIS and migration law. Her candidacy was announced by Labor in June 2025, alongside other candidates for key seats in the state.

Beyond her legal work, Rolls is involved with several cultural and justice organizations. She serves on the boards of the State Theatre Company and the Accessible Justice Project, and regularly volunteers at the Adelaide Day Centre for Homeless Persons. The Labor Party has positioned Rolls as a candidate focused on community engagement and leveraging legal expertise to address local concerns.

The Unley electorate is considered a key battleground in the upcoming state election. Labor’s candidate selection reflects a strategy to target seats currently held by the Liberal Party with candidates possessing strong professional backgrounds and community ties. Rolls’s experience at the Legal Services Commission is highlighted as demonstrating a commitment to assisting those in need.

Premier Peter Malinauskas and Deputy Premier Susan Close were involved in the unveiling of Labor’s candidates for the 2026 election, including Rolls. The party has also nominated candidates for the seats of Heysen, Colton, and Morphett, signaling a broad effort to challenge the Liberal Party across multiple districts.
