Sonia mabrouk, 48, Announces second Pregnancy
PARIS – Journalist Sonia Mabrouk, 48, has announced she is expecting her second child, sharing the news during a live broadcast on CNews this morning. The pregnancy comes just over a year after welcoming her first daughter, Soraya, in July 2024, a birth she described as the realization of a long-awaited dream.
Mabrouk, who became a mother at 46, previously spoke of motherhood as “absolute happiness” and “a gift from heaven.” Her first pregnancy followed the passing of her mother in October 2022, to whom she dedicated her daughter’s name, Soraya, explaining it carried “baggage that is both light…and heavy” wiht the symbolism of self-sacrifice and love. This second pregnancy marks a new chapter for the journalist, who balanced her career with first-time motherhood, briefly returning to air while on maternity leave with appearances on programs like ”Pro Times” alongside her daughter.
In May 2024, Mabrouk announced her initial maternity leave from her show, “The Big Interview,” handing the reins to Laurence Ferrari. She expressed her hope to return to broadcasting after spending time with her newborn. Details regarding mabrouk’s plans for maternity leave and coverage of her show during her absence have not yet been released.
