Solid Snake in Rainbow Six Siege: Metal Gear Crossover Confirmed

February 15, 2026 Rachel Kim – Technology Editor Technology

The legendary Solid Snake, voiced by David Hayter, will join the cast of playable operators in Ubisoft’s tactical shooter Rainbow Six Siege on March 3, as part of the “Operation Silent Hunt” update. The announcement, made February 15, 2026, marks the first time the game has featured a character originating from outside the Tom Clancy universe and from a different publisher, Konami.

Solid Snake’s inclusion comes with the Soliton Radar MKIII, a gadget allowing him to view floorplans and detect enemy positions. The radar displays green lines indicating level layouts, with dotted walls and striped floors denoting breakable surfaces. Ubisoft developers have described the gadget as potentially offering players a “mini-map” advantage within the game. He too possesses an “On-Site Procurement” ability, enabling him to scavenge supplies during matches.

The collaboration extends beyond the operator itself. The Operation Silent Hunt Battle Pass will instantly unlock Solid Snake for players and includes cosmetic items inspired by the Metal Gear Solid series, including an outfit for the operator Smoke modeled after Psycho Mantis. A limited-time event, scheduled later in the season, will feature a new gameplay mode and additional Metal Gear Solid-themed outfits, as well as a team-up between Solid Snake and Sam Fisher, another stealth-focused character already integrated into Rainbow Six Siege.

Ubisoft worked closely with Konami for nearly a year to bring Solid Snake into Rainbow Six Siege, aiming to integrate the character’s core infiltration style into the existing gameplay. Developers emphasized that while the character is new to the game, the experience remains fundamentally Rainbow Six Siege, rather than a Metal Gear Solid adaptation. The addition of both Sam Fisher and Solid Snake to the game has been noted as a resolution to long-standing debates among fans of both franchises.

The announcement followed a short teaser released two weeks prior, generating anticipation among players. Gameplay footage released on February 15 showcases Solid Snake in action, featuring new dialogue recorded by David Hayter. The limited-time event planned for later in the season remains partially [REDACTED], with details yet to be fully disclosed.
