Słynny gastroenterolog ostrzega. Te przysmaki obciążają wątrobę – Fakt
Dr. Saurabh Sethi, an American gastroenterologist, has identified five categories of products that negatively impact liver function, specifically highlighting how processed red meats and common meat snacks contribute to the development of liver steatosis.
According to Dr. Sethi, the most problematic items include sausages, bacon, pepperoni, and fried chicken. These products contain high levels of salt, preservatives, and both saturated and trans fats, which can lead to the accumulation of fat within liver cells and potentially result in serious health complications.
In addition to processed meats, health experts are warning consumers about the prevalence of synthetic cream substitutes. While these products may appear identical to traditional dairy cream, many are emulsions consisting of hardened fats and chemical additives rather than milk.
To identify these substitutes, experts advise checking product labels for terms such as “culinary mix,” “product for whipping,” or “creamy for soups.” Under current regulations, the term “cream” is reserved exclusively for dairy products. Substitutes typically replace milk fat with cheaper alternatives, most commonly coconut or palm oil, and utilize various stabilizers and thickening agents to mimic the consistency of real cream.
These substitutes are described as providing “empty calories” and containing technological additives that place additional strain on the liver. The combination of these additives and processed fats is cited as a primary cause of liver overburdening.
Dr. Sethi maintains that the most effective dietary adjustment for protecting the liver is the selection of less processed food alternatives.
