Slavia Prague Signs Polish Teenager Bartosz Szywala – Contract Until 2028

Slavia Prague Secures Top polish Talent Bartosz Szywala

Slavia Prague has announced the signing of highly-rated Polish prospect Bartosz Szywala,securing the 16-year-old’s services until 2028. Szywala, a regular in Polish youth national teams, chose the reigning Czech champions over interest from several prominent European clubs.

The move marks a significant coup for Slavia, with sports director Jiří Bílek expressing his delight. “Bartosz Szywala is a great Polish talent that has been overwhelmed by European big clubs and the negotiations were tough,” Bílek stated. “He was intensively involved in his arrival through all departments that had intensively communicated with the player and his agent from the very beginning. It is a pioneering step where we managed to bring the first polish player in professional competitions.”

Bílek further emphasized Slavia’s commitment to player growth. “Thanks to the quality work of our youth academy, we can offer and precisely set up the training process so that Bartosz’s journey is facing a clear goal, and that is an A-team for which it has there’s no doubt whatsoever great potential,” he added. “I would like to thank the club and the player agency that the negotiations were fair and we came to mutual agreement. Now I keep my fingers crossed for Bartosz in his further growth.”

Szywala, who can operate as a winger, attacking midfielder, or forward, attracted attention from clubs including Atalanta Bergamo, RB Leipzig, Utrecht, Borussia Dortmund, Augsburg, and Bologna. Despite the strong competition, Szywala was impressed by Slavia’s infrastructure and reputation.

“Slavia is a huge club, it certainly made a great impression on me. The whole background, city, environment – Prague.It really impressed me. Slavia is the best club in the Czech Republic,” Szywala commented after signing. “I am very satisfied and proud,simultaneously occurring motivated. It is indeed a great motivation for me for further hard work.”

Last season, Szywala featured for Śląsk Wrocław’s reserve team in the third tier of Polish football, scoring twice in 18 appearances. He also played for the club’s U19 side,contributing four goals in 11 games.
