Six-year-old Elliot English has died at Children’s Health Ireland at Crumlin from injuries sustained in an October 13 arson attack on his family home in Waterford city, bringing the death toll from the fire to five family members, rte.ie reported.

Critical Injury Claims Life Weeks After Birchwood Estate Fire

The October 13 fire at the Birchwood estate previously claimed the lives of Elliot’s parents, Kim and Philip English, along with his 12-year-old brother Callum and nine-year-old brother Jayden. According to rte.ie, one other child injured in the attack remains in hospital in critical condition.

Garda Arrests Six Suspects as Multiple Murder Inquiry Continues

An Garda Síochána continues to investigate the incident as a multiple murder following the fire that began shortly after 5 a.m. on October 13, donegallive.ied reported. A total of six people have been arrested in connection with the ongoing inquiry.

Four individuals—a man in his 50s, two women in their 30s, and a man in his 20s—were arrested last month on suspicion of facilitating a criminal organization under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act. Those four were subsequently released without charge, and files are being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
