EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. - southern illinois university Edwardsville (SIUE) golf will host 18 teams at the 2025 Dolenc Invitational, begining monday at Gateway National Golf Links. The two-day, 54-hole tournament features a diverse field including Belmont, bradley, Eastern Illinois, Green Bay, Idaho, Lindenwood, Missouri State, Morehead State, Northern Iowa, Omaha, Southern Indiana, Southern Utah, Tennessee State, UT Martin, Weber State, Western Illinois, and Wichita State.
The Dolenc Invitational marks a critically important early-season test for the two-time defending champion Cougars, offering a platform too gauge their performance against a competitive regional landscape. SIUE has a strong history at this event, having secured the tournament title six times overall. All 10 SIUE golfers are scheduled to participate, providing valuable playing experience.
The tournament will commence with a shotgun start at 8:00 a.m. on both Monday and Tuesday. Monday will consist of 36 holes, while Tuesday features the final 18. SIUE will be paired with Idaho, UT Martin, and Wichita State for the first round. Gateway National Golf Links will play at 6,985 yards for the first two rounds (par 71) and 7,001 yards for the final round.
SIUE’s lineup includes Brady Kaufmann, Preston Bily, William Simpson, Tomas Rascon, and Brent Reintjes. Competing as individuals for the Cougars are Max Bruening, Hayden Moore, parker Bruening, Jake Guse, and Thomas Hereau.
