During her VMAs debut on Sunday, Sept. 27, British singer-songwriter Sienna Spiro performed her single “Great Expectation” standing atop a giant record and turntable at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, earning a standing ovation from the audience.

Sienna Spiro took to the stage during the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards wearing a silver dress. Backed by a live band and singers, she delivered a rendition of her stirring single “Great Expectation.” The performance captivated both the live audience at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles and viewers watching the broadcast at home, resulting in a standing ovation.

Her appearance follows a notable month for the artist. Her single “Great Expectation” secured its third consecutive week at No. 1 on the U.K.’s Official Singles Chart. That achievement places it alongside her other tracks, with “Die on This Hill” at No. 11 and “Pure” at No. 28 in the top 40.

In addition to her performance, Spiro competed in the best new artist category at the awards show. She won the category, defeating six other nominees: Magnus Ferrell, Malcolm Todd, Myles Smith, Stella Lefty, Bella Kay, and CORTIS.
Walking up to accept her Moon Person trophy, Spiro expressed surprise at the win. She thanked the fans who voted for her, along with her team and family.
“I didn’t think this would happen, so I just have to say thank you so much,” Spiro said during her acceptance speech. “Thank you to the fans and the people that voted for me. I love you.
