Sid Vicious to Enter WWE Hall of Fame in 2026

March 24, 2026 Alex Carter - Sports Editor Sport

LAS VEGAS – Sid Vicious, the controversial and intensely popular professional wrestler, will be posthumously inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as part of the 2026 class, Paul Levesque, WWE’s Chief Creative Officer, announced Tuesday.

The announcement, made via a post on X (formerly Twitter), places Vicious alongside previously announced inductees Stephanie McMahon, AJ Styles, Demolition (Ax & Smash) and NBA Hall of Famer Dennis Rodman. The induction ceremony will take place at Dolby Live at Park MGM in Las Vegas on Friday, April 17, the night before WrestleMania 42, according to WWE.

“No matter which moniker you knew him by, Sid’s intensity was palpable across the ring and through your TV screen,” Levesque wrote. “A multi-time champion in @WWE and WCW, and a two-time #WrestleMania main event, it’s a pleasure to announce that he will take his rightful place in the 2026 Legacy Class of the #WWEHOF.”

Vicious, whose real name was Sidney Eudy, died in August 2024 after a private battle with cancer. Prior to his death, he had reportedly expressed hope for a Hall of Fame induction, believing that a change in WWE leadership might improve his chances given a previously strained relationship with Vince McMahon.

Throughout his career, Vicious was a prominent figure in both WWE and WCW. He headlined WrestleMania VIII in 1992 against Hulk Hogan and WrestleMania 13 in 1997 against The Undertaker. He also held world championships in both organizations and was an early member of the legendary Four Horsemen stable in WCW.

Following his passing, Vicious’s family is planning a tribute indicate in August, with proceeds benefiting an animal rescue charity, reflecting his well-known love for animals. His son, Gunnar, is organizing the event.

The WWE Hall of Fame ceremony is scheduled to begin at 9 p.m. Pacific Time/midnight Eastern Time at Dolby Live in Las Vegas.
