Shyne Announces 25th Anniversary Tour for Landmark debut Album

Rapper Shyne is celebrating the 25th anniversary of his self-titled debut album, Shyne,⁤ with​ a forthcoming ​tour. the announcement came ‍during an interview with Cam’ron on the “Talk With Flee“‍ podcast, were Shyne also revealed plans​ for ⁢two new albums tied to‍ upcoming ⁣film and television projects.

Released in 2000 under‌ Bad Boy Records, shyne ⁤achieved gold status ‌that same year and marked a pivotal moment in the artist’s career. It ⁤remains ​his⁢ only album released while not incarcerated, featuring collaborations with Barrington Levy, 112’s Slim, ​and standout tracks like “Bad Boyz,” “Bonnie & Shyne,” and “Commission.”⁣ The project ⁣debuted at no. 5 on the Billboard ‍200 chart. ‍ Shyne’s⁢ subsequent album,Godfather Buried Alive,released in 2004,was commercially more accomplished,but he was incarcerated at the time of its release.

During the interview, Shyne discussed his renewed focus on‌ music following​ his recent loss​ in the Belizean election ⁤in March, where he sought re-election after previously serving as ‍a​ member of‌ the House of Representatives. He explained that his political duties had previously limited his ability to perform, with the 2022 BET Awards performance-dedicated to Belize-being a notable​ exception.

Looking ahead, shyne plans to create new music specifically for a forthcoming television‍ series, envisioning a project similar in scope to “Narcos,” “Powers,” and ⁤”BMF.” He also intends to release an‌ album accompanying a separate motion picture. He also expressed interest ⁢in bringing out fellow‌ rappers DMX⁤ (“Killa”) and Ma$e,stating,”I don’t know ⁤if he’s retired.”
