According to information from the Malian portal “Journal du Mali”, Cisse was kidnapped on Thursday, November 6, by jihadists from the Support Group for Muslims and Islam (JNIM), an organization linked to Al-Qaeda. The tragedy occurred at the market in Echel, just 20 km from her hometown. As her brother told AFP, the terrorists accused Mariam of “collaborating with the Malian army.” Their “evidence” were the figures of armed men visible in the background of one of her videos.
