Shell & Van Kessel Partnership: Fuels, Charging & Net Zero Goals

Shell and Van Kessel Partner to Accelerate Sustainable Mobility in teh Netherlands

THE HAGUE ‍- Shell Netherlands and Van Kessel have signed a declaration of intent to forge a strategic partnership focused on providing enhanced⁢ services to Dutch businesses ‌and driving the energy transition to net-zero emissions.

The collaboration will leverage the strengths of both companies to make sustainable energy solutions more accessible and capitalize on the evolving energy market. This integrated approach combines expertise, infrastructure, and tailored customer solutions.

Key areas of collaboration include:

* Sustainable ⁣Fuel Deliveries: Expanding access to lower-carbon fuels like bio-LNG and‌ renewable diesel (HVO100/Shell Renewable Diesel) for businesses.
* Integrated Fuel & Charging Solutions: Offering a combined Shell card for seamless refueling and electric vehicle charging.
*‌ Network Expansion: Growing​ the network of refueling and charging locations, including sustainable ⁤energy hubs featuring charging​ plazas and hydrogen filling stations.

“This collaboration gives us access to Shell’s ⁤global expertise, integrated energy solutions, and innovation capabilities, allowing us to expand our offering and accelerate our sustainable growth,” said Joan van Kessel, Managing Director of Van Kessel.

Sandra Geilings, Head of Business Mobility at Shell for the⁤ Benelux and ‌France, highlighted the complementary nature of the ⁢partnership: ‌”Van Kessel’s deep understanding of the Dutch market and strong customer relationships, combined with our ⁢resources, will allow us to better serve the‌ Dutch business market and navigate the challenges‍ of achieving net-zero emissions.”

Both Shell and Van Kessel ⁢boast long histories ⁢in the Dutch energy sector ​- Shell for over 135 years and Van Kessel for over 104 – originally beginning as lamp oil traders. Van Kessel currently operates​ 40+ filling stations, a fleet ‌of⁣ 26 tankers, and Greenpoint sustainable ⁣energy hubs offering ⁤fossil-free ⁣fuels, EV charging, and hydrogen refueling.

The⁣ companies will now ⁣work to finalize the ‍details of the partnership outlined in⁢ the declaration of intent.
