Shane Lowry Returns in Madrid for Season Finale Run
Shane Lowry skipped the Alfred Dunhill Links, marking a break from one of his usual favorites on the tour schedule, to prepare for his appearance in Madrid. American Patrick Reed leads that standings list ahead of Rory McIlroy. Following this week’s event in Spain, Lowry heads to the DP World India Championship before closing out his campaign next month with two high-stakes tournaments in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
Tom McKibbin also joins the field in Spain. Sitting 85th in the Race to Dubai rankings, McKibbin needs strong finishes over the coming weeks to break into the top 50 players who earn a spot in the season-ending Tour Championship.

The Hotel Planner Tour continues with back-to-back weeks in China, starting with the Hainan Open, where Nolan and Gary Hurley represent the sole Irish players in the field. The circuit concludes with the Grand Final in Mallorca running from October 19th to November 1st, where the top 15 players on the final standings secure full DP World Tour cards for the following season.
