San Salvador – Shakira concluded a five-night residency at the Estadio Jorge “Mágico” González in El Salvador on Sunday, February 15th, drawing an estimated total audience of 82,000 fans and generating an estimated $55 million in economic impact, according to organizers.

The Colombian superstar’s “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour” stop in San Salvador saw the stadium filled to capacity for each of the three initial concerts on February 12th, 14th, and 15th. A fourth and fifth reveal were added due to overwhelming demand, marking a significant moment for the Central American nation’s entertainment scene. The final concert on February 15th featured fans arriving as early as 4:00 p.m., many sporting outfits inspired by Shakira’s music and imagery, including purple wigs referencing her song “Las de la intuición.”

The economic benefits of the residency extend beyond ticket sales, with the influx of tourists boosting local businesses, hotels, and restaurants. Two Shows, the concert producer, and the Ministry of Tourism (MITUR) estimate that the February 12th concert alone brought in approximately 30,000 attendees. The presence of fans from South American countries was also noted, indicating a broader regional draw.

During her final performance, Shakira acknowledged the support she received from Central American audiences throughout her residency, stating that the experience would remain with her. The concert included a mix of recent hits and classic songs, culminating in a performance that attendees described as a “fiesta.” Fans were observed recording performances of songs like “Hips Don’t Lie” and “Antología” on their mobile phones.

The success of Shakira’s residency has positioned San Salvador as a key entertainment hub in the region. The Estadio Nacional Jorge “Mágico” González hosted a sold-out performance on February 15th, marking the end of Shakira’s Central American tour leg.
