senior Financial Accountant – North Sydney
Robert Half is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join a dynamic finance team in North Sydney. This pivotal role will be instrumental in delivering accurate financial reporting, consolidation, and forecasting for a buisness with a significant operational footprint across Australia. The position offers close collaboration with finance leadership and contribution to key decision-making at the group level.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the preparation and submission of monthly consolidated financial results and balance sheet.
* Support group-level financial reporting and dialog, including the preparation and submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting packs.
* Manage group consolidation adjustments related to fixed assets, leases, and intangible assets.
* Develop financial presentation materials for Monthly Business Review meetings.
* Assist with quarterly Board reporting and address other ad hoc reporting requirements.
* Maintain and update long-term financial forecasts (P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow) on a monthly basis.
* Prepare budgeted cash flow and balance sheet projections to support strategic planning initiatives.
* Prepare and submit extensive business cases for capital expenditure (capex), including detailed financial modelling and feasibility analysis.
* Maintain oversight of approval schedules and ensure adherence to financial governance processes.
* Liaise with external auditors and provide support throughout the audit process.
* Coordinate quarterly compliance reporting and ensure alignment with established finance policies and levels of authority.
* Undertake additional responsibilities and projects as required.
Your Profile:
* A Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification or equivalent professional certification is essential.
* Demonstrated strong technical accounting skills with ample financial reporting experience.
* Proven experience collaborating with external auditors; applications are particularly encouraged from those transitioning from audit roles.
* Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including financial modelling capabilities (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow).
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and effectively engage with stakeholders.
* A proactive, solutions-focused approach combined with a collaborative and hands-on work ethic.
* High level of Excel proficiency, including advanced formulas, data analysis, and model-building.
