U.S. Embassy Issues Security Alert for India,Urges Travelers to Enroll in STEP
New Delhi – The U.S. Embassy in New Delhi issued a security alert on November 10, 2025, advising U.S. citizens in India to remain vigilant and enroll in the Smart traveler enrollment Program (STEP) to receive critical safety updates. the alert follows ongoing assessments of the security landscape within the country.
This alert impacts all U.S.nationals currently residing in or traveling throughout India. Enrollment in STEP allows the State Department to facilitate assistance during emergencies, including natural disasters, civil unrest, or terrorist activity. The embassy encourages proactive registration to ensure timely dialog regarding potential risks and evacuation procedures, should they become necessary.
