Section Paloise shapes competitive lineup to face Toulon
Section Paloise travels to the Stade Mayol to face Rugby Club Toulonnais in the Top 14 with a competitive team despite several absences, Midi Olympique reported. The Béarnais staff has shaped a competitive lineup featuring returning internationals and an experienced forward pack for this encounter.
A Competitive Backline Led by Théo Attissogbe
Théo Attissogbe is projected to start at fullback with the number 15 jersey for the upcoming fixture. Aaron Grandidier-Nkanang and Marta are slated to occupy the wing positions. In the midfield, Émilien Gailleton and Fabien Brau-Boirie are expected to form the starting center pairing designed to test the Toulon defensive line. Axel Desperes is the leading candidate to start at fly-half, partnered with scrum-half Thomas Souverbie.
The half-back pairing carries the responsibility of directing the visitors’ tactical approach in a hostile away environment. Daubagna missed training time earlier in the week due to a muscular issue, leaving him in competition with Garcia for a spot among the replacements.
Beka Gorgadze Captains an Experienced Pack
Beka Gorgadze is positioned to wear the captain’s armband while starting at number 8. He will feature alongside Vergnes-Taillefer in the back row, with a final decision pending between Credoz and Grondona for the remaining loose forward spot. Hugo Auradou and Baptiste Pesenti are anticipated to anchor the second row.
The front row includes Kaulashvili at loosehead prop, Laclayat at tighthead, and Julián Montoya at hooker.
Provisional Matchday Squad Adjustments
Delhommel is slated to serve as the replacement hooker on the bench. Bibi-Biziwu and Parrou contest the reserve loosehead prop role, while Maximin returns to the matchday group following his recovery from Achilles tendon surgery. Tokolahi completes the front-row bench options.
The provisional starting XV features Attissogbe at 15; Grandidier-Nkanang, Gailleton, Brau-Boirie, and Marta across the backline; Desperes and Souverbie at half-back; and a pack comprising Vergnes-Taillefer, Gorgadze, and either Credoz or Grondona. The replacements list includes Delhommel, Bibi-Biziwu or Parrou, Maximin, Credoz or Grondona, Isa, Daubagna or Garcia, Mondinat, and Tokolahi.
