Bourbonne-les-Bains Schoolchildren Inspired by Musical Showcase
BOURBONNE-LES-BAINS, September 8 – Elementary and large-section students from schools in Bourbonne-les-Bains were treated to a special musical presentation Monday, designed to spark an interest in music and introduce them to a variety of instruments. The music school’s teachers and director welcomed the young students for a performance centered around Geoffroy de Pennart‘s album, ”The Sentimental Wolf,” adapted and re-imagined for the occasion.
The teachers creatively reworked the story, using live musical accompaniment to showcase the capabilities of the flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, piano, drums, and guitar. Following the performance, musical training professor Dorothée Wronka led an engaging discussion about the fundamentals of music – scope, notes, and rhythms – while “Babass,” a teacher specializing in early childhood education, presented a musical awakening session for the five-year-olds.
Music school director Damien Bonnin encouraged the children to share their experience with their families and visit the school to learn more about lessons and opportunities. The school also announced plans for ongoing collaborative projects throughout the year, including classroom visits and the continuation of the popular “Schools that Sing” initiative.
