Saône-et-Loire School Map: Preparations for September 2026
Saône-et-Loire’s Departmental Director of National Education, Catherine Pierre, announced preparations for the school map for the September 2026 academic year, following a period of restriction due to recent municipal elections.
Pierre assumed her position on April 1, 2025, succeeding Liliane Ménissier, who retired after serving since July 2022. Her appointment as Inspectrice d’académie – directrice académique des services départementaux de l’Éducation nationale (IA-DASEN) was announced by the Dijon academy on April 4, 2025.
Prior to leading the Saône-et-Loire department, Pierre served as directrice académique adjointe at the direction des services départementaux de l’Éducation nationale in Meurthe-et-Moselle, beginning in October 2019. In that role, she focused on school mixity and the “Éducation prioritaire et cités éducatives” mission.
Pierre’s career began in 1990 as a French teacher in colleges and high schools, following the attainment of her CAPES de lettres modernes. She later became a principal and then a proviseur in both rural and urban areas of the Vosges and Moselle regions, after successfully completing the recruitment competition for management personnel.
The announcement regarding the school map preparations follows a period of limited public communication due to the recent municipal elections. No specific details regarding the planned changes were released with the announcement.
